Your Breathing Can Change Your Food Choice

In this lecture Simon explains in simple terms:

· How what you eat directly affects the way you breathe.
· That learning how to comfortably breathe less than normal (pranayama) eventually allows you to comfortably eat less than normal.
· That the only diet that has been scientifically proven to increase lifespan is the ‘calorie reduction’ or ‘eat less’ diet.
· ‘Eating less’ is only viable if it is completely without negative physical or emotional side effects, and how to achieve this with simple yogic techniques.
· How balancing your diet with your breathing can improve circulation, increase mobility, increase energy, help calm your nerves, reduce asthma, reduce arthritis, improve your concentration and help you think more clearly.
· That by making your diet more alkaline (e.g. by eating more fruit and vegetables) you can improve your breathing (i.e. comfortably learn how breathe less, like an experienced athlete) and exercise, relax and meditate more easily.

In this class, physiotherapist and advanced yoga teacher Simon Borg-Olivier will lead you through a flowing sequence of spinal movements. These movements, although rarely seen in modern yoga are both the source and key to all posture and movement systems including classical yoga, martial arts and modern dance. This practice has also proven to be one of the most effective movement therapies for the relief of back pain.

You will learn an accessible but very effective Yoga Synergy sequence that will enable you to: 
- Get flexible without feeling like you are stretching 
- Get strong without feeling tense
- Feel relaxed without having to lie on your back at the end of your practice
- Improve circulation without making your heart beat faster
- Bring oxygen to your body cells without having to breathe more than normal
- Bring intelligence to you cells without having to think too much.
