The majority of us sit for most of our days, which can compromise the mobility and stability in our hips. This can result in compensatory action elsewhere in the body, often leading to pain in the knees and lower back. Learning to align the pelvis as the hub of the physical body and encouraging healthy movement patterns in the hips can help relieve pain, improve postural alignment and overall movements. This practical workshop will introduce the anatomy of the pelvis and hips, and explore pure hip movements and their application to common yoga poses. The asana practice will focus on opening the hips and stabilising the hips and pelvis. You'll learn an effective set of stretches to free up the hips for more advanced hip poses.
